Food for thought in New York

As a growing in-house agency, we are willing to travel far and wide to keep up to date with the latest in the digital world, which is why we sent our Data Science lead, Chris, and Senior Data Scientist, Jon, to The Big Apple for a whole 51 hours! Chris shares with us his insights from the ‘New York R Conference’ and more importantly, the all-American lunch menu. “Senior Data Scientist, Jon Stott, and I had the chance to travel to New York in May to attend the New York R Conference. As Data Scientists, R is a statistical programming language we use for much of our work here at MAG-O and having the opportunity to get involved with the event allowed us to get up close (and personal) with some of the leading lights of the #rstats community. After arriving at the Conference, we were met with quite the array of food. An Inspirational Story of Determination and Recovery

It’s important to understand when a colleague may be going through a turbulent journey with mental health, which is why Pete spoke out about his experience and how his self-taught approach to becoming a developer helped him through some testing times.  Fuelled by his determination for success and recovery, Pete adopted a proactive attitude to shift his focus within departments from Meet and Greet to our tech teams at MAG-O. Why Andy chose MAG-O to kick start his career.

MAG-O are reinventing traditional graduate schemes by pushing individuals even further to develop their talent, interests and future employability. We offer graduates a scheme that operates on a six-month rotational basis, providing experience from various sectors of the business. Andy, a recent graduate In Business Studies from Liverpool John Moores University, accepted the offer for a place on our Customer Insights Graduate Scheme. I asked Andy what sets MAG-O apart from other graduate schemes; ‘The Customer Insights role has given me exposure to many areas of the wider MAG business. I was really impressed by the layout of the office space and the opportunities on offer.
